What Ads Are Catching My Eye?

There are a lot of things that catch my eye when it comes to advertisements. Whether it be creative billboards, well-crafted commercials, interactive instagram ads etc., there is always something new and enticing in the advertising world.

One of my favorite ads is the “Shot With IPhone” campaign. I don’t see these very often in Milwaukee, but whenever I go home to San Francisco, it is the main advertisement I see on billboards. I really like this campaign because it is simple and their message is easily communicated to their audience. The image they are showing is usually one of substance and purpose as well, all with the goal of selling their product. Another thing I like about this campaign is that they are making it interactive. Users were told to submit their best photos, and the entire campaign was user generated. The campaign currently has over 15 million posts utilizing the #shotoniphone hashtag- proving that is was extremely successful. Apple figured it out, the best way to communicate the potential of a product is not to show what it can do, but show how the product does it.

Another ad that really catches my eye are interactive Instagram stories. Companies like Dunkin Donuts and fashion brands do a really good job with this. I really appreciate when companies hone into their creative side and create ads that are interactive, for example the IG poll below. This was a great way for the company to put Dunkin Donuts at the top of their audience’s mind, all while collecting valuable sales information for themselves. All in all, creative and interactive ads are really catching my eye these days.

Overall, advertisements are becoming more and more accessible and affordable for companies with the rise of social media. It is interesting to see how they have evolved over the years, and to see which ones are catching my eyes in the present day.
